An Ombudsman is a volunteer liaison between the Command families and the Commanding Officer. We have received training and have a wealth of resources available to assist you. We are bound by a code of ethics, including confidentiality.
There are 6 Ombudsmen assigned to the USS John C. Stennis, and they each carry a cell phone. Each week two different Ombudsmen cell phones are activated to receive your calls to the following numbers:

The remaining four phones are not maintained, therefore, it is important to call the official numbers above. The Ombudsmen on duty cannot always answer their cell phone immediately, they may be driving etc. We encourage you to leave a voicemail message, it need only be your first name and a number to reach you, and we will call you back as soon as we can. You can always reach your Ombudsmen by emailing stennisombudsmanteam@yahoo.com. A different Ombudsman covers the email account every week.

We also update the Careline at 1-877-462-8674 as soon as we receive official pier side information. Your sailor is the best source of information with regards to the deployment schedule of the Stennis. As families, we play an important role in protecting our Sailors, please remember to keep the ship’s schedule private.
